Khufu, the oldest Ship ever found. You won’t believe how beautiful is
It is magical to see the Ship that was sealed into a pit at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza around 2500 BC; it looks so majestic and fresh.
Not many people know about the solar boat Khufu, because it is hidden under the shadow of a much greater monument of Ancient Egypt, The Pyramids of Giza.
It is close to impossible to win against the Wonder of the World, The Great Pyramid of Giza, but once you are there, the Giza Solar Boat museum is well worth your time.
This ancient masterpiece was renewed to perfection in order to show the craftsmanship of the Ancient Egyptians, the civilization that gave the world so much, Ancient Egyptian scripts, Hieroglyphs, stunning Monuments, Papyrus, and even the Plow.
Khufu’s solar boat shows some signs of having been used in water, but the real purpose of this ship is still unknown. The boat is 43m long and close to 6m wide.
There is also the second solar boat of Khufu that is going to be reconstructed. Altogether seven ship pits have been recognized around the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Ramps and stairs around the solar boat allow the visitor to see it from different angles. Photographs throughout the solar boat museum show the entire excavation and restoration process.
